STRESS replaced with CALM - NTK

A lady in her late 50s was suffering with stress and the pressures of work that turned out to be largely self-imposed.  She works in the child care industry and was responsible for managing just under 30 child care workers and other managers besides.

Her focus was to be on her stress, but during the treatment where sometimes as the Neuro-Trainer I need to find the particular emotion that is causing stress for the person, I was surprised to discover that the emotion was ‘enthusiasm’.  I would have thought that this particular emotion was a positive emotion, not negative or stressful at all.  But as with all Neuro-Training sessions, it is not up to the facilitator to make judgement on what they believe is the issue, it is ALWAYS determined by the client themselves.  That is how the kinesiology side works so well as a tool to discover the body’s response to stress and what is really driving the issue.

When questioned about the emotion ‘enthusiasm’ she was clear that she fully understood why this would have shown as a stress for her.  Each morning on walking in the door, she believed she had to show enthusiasm in order to motivate all her staff towards a good days work with the children.  This had become such a chore for her that it was causing her stress, but she could see no way out of this behaviour.  She was stuck.

Following a balance (with this as the focus), she reported back to me a few weeks later how free she felt as she no longer felt it necessary to put on the forced enthusiasm.  She also noted how very calm she felt, how she now didn’t feel a need to check on her staff all the time and could work out her priorities for her work so much better.  She mentioned several times, just how calm she now felt throughout the day and how much smoother things seemed to be working.  This demonstrates how sometimes we have done something that may have been a helpful thing in the beginning, and as a consequence developed into a habit that is now causing you stress and may not even be necessary at all anymore.

Anxiety / Panic - things of the past - NTK

I recently treated a young woman of 15 years who had a major problem with anxiety.  She is a pianist having performed in front of audiences since a very early age.  However, she always hated performing and suffered major anxiety attacks before every single performance.

This anxiety was also a big problem for any type of ‘performance’ and was becoming a serious issue with her attending interviews while looking for work.  Her mother told me that the night before a recent interview she was in tears, was having trouble breathing properly, and was a complete mess unable to think straight.

This by the way, is a fine example of the Flight/Fight response, where under stress the brain basically shuts down three quarters of its functions (the whole of the right hemisphere and the front of the left hemisphere of the brain), in order to pump blood to the extremities in preparation for confronting/fighting or for running away.  This is a normal common stress response and in today’s society is becoming a daily occurrence so that unfortunately it then affects people’s abilities to think clearly, make decisions, and learn anything new, it affects your memory and interferes in carrying out even simple tasks.

To get back to the interview, she couldn’t think straight, couldn’t answer questions properly and felt like she had failed miserably.  Two weeks later she had another interview, but between these times I treated her for anxiety / panic and she went home, expressing that the treatment seemed a bit strange, but ok.

Her mum told the story that that evening she and her other daughter went into her bedroom to offer advice and encouragement in order to help her over the tears and anxiety.  She was quite calm and told them both clearly that she didn’t need any help as she wasn’t anxious in the least – as if she didn’t know what all the fuss was about.  She performed extremely well during the interview meeting and answering all the questions with clarity and confidence.  Her mum thinks that her daughter actually didn’t realise just how different she was from one interview to the next.

The success of Neuro-Training is that the person often doesn’t realise that some behaviours ‘just change’ and the pain, anguish, negativity, lack of confidence, whatever it is, seems to just disappear. The change is easy and comfortable and IMMEDIATE, although awareness of those changes may not become apparent to the individual until after a situation has occurred that they now respond differently too; or when they are questioned; or until they think it through.  Good stuff eh?

Confidence & Self Esteem - NTK

A married woman of 37 years old, with two teenage daughters.  She works full time as well as runs the home and is heavily involved in several committee activities in her church.  One of her main issues that she wanted to change was that she felt everyone was taking advantage of her.  As she is extremely capable and well organised, everyone thought “Oh, Andrea (not real name) will do it” and sure enough, she basically couldn’t ‘let people down’ so she took on everything that was asked of her.

Following a balance with Neuro-Training and Kinesiology, she told me a few weeks later that during a family outing at a restaurant, she spoke up to tell her family that things had to change.  The outcome of that was a drawing up a list of various home chores that each family member put their names against, until the whole list was completed.  She was thrilled as another outcome she proudly mentioned was that all these chores would be done ‘without payment’ (this obviously used to be the usual MO for getting any chores completed).

Several weeks later when I checked not only was this still being successfully achieved, but yet another outcome was volunteered.

Apparently she felt she should talk with her boss as she knew she had been more outspoken at work and was delegating jobs instead of taking them on.  Her boss said that he had noticed the change in her work style and asked her what had enabled the impressive changes.  She mentioned that she’d had some treatments that had given her more confidence.

It was clearly visible as she talked how excited she was at the changes she was seeing for herself as this also encompassed the committees she worked on in her church, so all three areas had benefited from the improved confidence and enhanced her self esteem.

It is worth noting that these changes took place with positive assertiveness and had clearly been brought about with only one focused balance carried out with Neuro-Training and Kinesiology. One very happy client.

Kinesiology with Neuro-Training

What is Neuro-Training with Kinesiology?

Kinesiology involves the use of muscle testing, monitoring subconscious neurological responses. Involving the use of muscle testing, monitoring or checking, this enables access to information about a person's wellbeing.

Neuro-Training is about retraining our brain and facilitating changes in the nervous system encouraging ‘symptoms’ to fade and a better functioning pattern to emerge (includes Mind, Emotional, Physical, Energy, Fears, Phobias, Habits, etc).

Today we are under such relentless high pressure, that we seem to be in constant Flight/Fight (distress) mode.  This can affect our ability for rational thinking; losing perspective on what is an emergency and what is not. Neuro-Training therefore helps to break the distress habit in two ways.

1.   Retrain your brain not to go into defence mode habitually
2.   Bring the blood (and its nutrients)back to the areas of the brain restricted due to going into ‘Flight or Fight’ mode

Sessions are tailored to individual client needs (stress is just one) and include physical symptoms, emotions, energy levels and patterns of thinking, etc.

Stress – what it does to us
As an example, stress is good – to a degree!  When it becomes too demanding and ongoing however, we become ‘distressed’.

We then defend against this chronic demand and subconsciously start to change our everyday behaviour. We often do not notice this happening.

This affects other functions in our brain and stops us from learning, makes it difficult to concentrate, think clearly, remember, or to coordinate simple tasks.

We get so used to behaving like this, we may not be aware just how stressed we are.  This then starts to impact on our health & wellbeing.

*PTSD is one example of sustained defence against trauma.
*Post Traumatic Stress Disorder

The human body is like a highly complex machine and if it is to function effectively (it should be) kept in good working condition.

If anything impacts or interferes with that complexity, the result is illness..

Achieve Your Goals - NTK

A young woman in her early 30s was going through what was shaping up to be a nasty divorce situation.  A young child was involved and the (soon to be ex) husband was trying some nasty tricks to present the young woman as incapable of looking after her son and a few other things besides. It was shocking and heart-rending and putting the young woman under unexpected pressure and stress.  At the same time she was also facing considerable pressure at work, as restructuring was taking place.  As her job was one that was in the firing line, she’d felt forced to take long service leave as well.  She was suffering from all sorts of complex and stressful feelings of hopelessness, depression, lack of motivation, anxiety and low confidence and self esteem as a consequence.

There were a number of things she wanted help with and she initially chose her lack of confidence and self esteem, as her court case was due for a hearing the following week.

Following a Neuro-Training treatment, she went to court and it wasn’t until a few weeks later when she told me that she was a different person during the entire negotiation sessions (able to look her ex straight in the eyes, no crying or feeling out of her depth). In fact she noted that he was the one that couldn’t look her in the eye and appeared distinctly uncomfortable throughout, but she also described that now during recent hand-overs of her child during access weekends; she was no longer cowering and dreading these meetings and was handling them all calmly and patiently.  She was amazed on looking back, just how easy it had all seemed to be.

Recently she told me with much excitement, that following another treatment where she chose to focus on her lack of motivation and depression (following a realization that she really did not want to return to her previous work), that after wanting to do this for six years, she had finally applied and sat for entrance into the Police Force.  She was thrilled, noting that she hadn’t felt anxious or lacking in confidence or self esteem throughout the whole process.  Her face was alight with joy and excitement at the changes she was now making in her life.   She now had control and was on top of her emotions and her life expectations were back in focus and looking so positive for her.

She put her success down to the work she had accomplished by getting some Neuro-Training to address all the negative feelings she’d been having over the recent stressful years of her life.

Musculosketal pain & imbalance

A recent client came for upper back, shoulder and neck pain.  She works in IT so admits she has very bad posture as she's mostly at the computer all day.  She's never had Bowen before, so with any client new to this type of treatment I knew I'd need to go carefully in order to see how her body would respond to it.

With any Bowen treatment, it can release toxins stored in the body and these can make you feel a little achy next day, so slow and careful, first time round!  Oh the good news is that Bowen also makes your body better assimilate nutrients, so every cloud does have a silver lining eh?

BEFORE - her L leg is shorter
AFTER clearly shows leg length improved
This time I remembered to take photos BEFORE I treated her and I've attached them here.  As it WAS  her first treatment, I explained that I would be able to relieve her back and neck discomfort, which I did, but wouldn't at this time, do much more until her body 'understood' what Bowen would be doing.  Too much on the first treatment can be too much 'information' for the body to handle.  A little like overloading info into a computer?
BEFORE- her L buttock higher
AFTER - buttocks now level

Bowen, by the way, continues to 'work' on the body (incrementally) over 4-5 DAYS (not hours!). So slow is far, far better at the very first treatment.  This is why we recommend against any other remedial therapy from any other source for that 4-5 days by the way.

BEFORE - her L knee is lower
AFTER - Knees now level
Anyway, as you can see her leg length shows the left leg pulled up tight into the pelvic area shown here by the misalignment of the heels as I gently pulled them together.  The next photo if you look closely shows her left buttock is higher than the right and when I turn her over and she bends her knees (making sure the feet are in perfect alignment too), the left again is decidedly shorter than the right.

Second Treatment
One week later she reported feeling really good after her first treatment, so I was OK to "pull out all the stops" and correct her pelvic imbalance and leg length discrepancy.  Any runners reading this will be delighted to know that this is an easy issue to correct and will greatly enhance your smooth running and your body response (recuperation).

Her main areas of tension were located in two places - her lower  back muscles on the Right (Quadratus Lumborum or QL for short), the right Psoas (which is a deep muscle that supports the action of the QL and often causes problems with pelvic balance, especially standing straight) and the Left inguinal ligament that connects the hip bone with the pubic bone.  Other moves were made over additional areas, but these were the one where particular imbalances were found.  Both can affect the pelvis and consequently the length of the leg, the placement of buttocks and knees - as you see in the AFTER treatment photos all those areas have improved markedly.  The client herself could FEEL the difference as well as see for herself when looking down towards her knees.

If you require your body balanced and to reduce physical discomfort no matter how long you've had this for (it could be a car accident you suffered years ago), Bowen can help you. Contact us for an appointment at Brilliant Living Solutions.

Stress and sleep disorder

A woman in her early forties came to see me with severely aching legs that had “always been a problem since about 11 yrs of age” and that doctors could not help and were unable to diagnose a cause or treatment plan, other than constant use of pain killers to enable her to get some sleep at night.

She also had had a car accident at about 13 (ran over her legs on soft ground). The pain was constant and the only way she could sleep at night was to rest her legs up against the wall for 30-40 mins, which would provide some relief allowing about an hour’s sleep, before she would have to go through the routine again.  No much sleep for years really.

Bowen helped to some degree, but it wasn’t until I put her onto minerals in January 2013 that I noticed a marked improvement.  It was slow at first and I assured her that if she stuck with it, it should help improve her aching legs and therefore her ability to sleep.  Since taking the minerals she noticed improvement in things I didn’t expect.  Her eczema improved and she stopped biting her nails

More importantly her muscle pain receded and her sleeping vastly improved.  Within twelve months she was sleeping at least 7-8 hours a night.  She no longer had to put her legs up against the wall and pain medication is now seldom required.  She can leave off the minerals for longer periods, so she can now see the future being consistently pain free, with quality sleep.  The minerals will always be there if needed, but she will no longer be reliant on them like she was on the drugs.

Note:

In cases of chronic illness it takes longer to rebuild and purify the system.  This client is in her 40s and has suffered for over 30 years, so the process has taken longer than usual. While it has taken over a year to gain these results, it is the first time she has been able to sleep properly. She will not have to take the minerals ‘for the rest of her life’.  They are natural to the body and do not interfere with any medications. I’ve also noted her skin is now markedly brighter, ‘fresher’ and more luminous.  Her voice is stronger and more ‘determined’, as is her manner, which was highly likely due to long term sleep deprivation.
It is worth mentioning that in some cases (not this client), if any mineral deficiency is severe enough for long enough, it can actually impact on manner and personality, such as someone being a procrastinator, or having a fear of failure, or even setting self imposed restrictions or barriers.
